He has been very insistent on feeding himself lately. I forgot how messy this whole process is!! I must have erased it from memory with Gray. In all honesty it has been fun seeing him experience the fun of food. Not too bad... except for tonight. Let's just say that he went straight to the bath!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TQbfzKBiGUI/AAAAAAAAAU0/nPDiOGQxKo4/s1600/DSC05078.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550369660737820994" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TQbfzKBiGUI/AAAAAAAAAU0/nPDiOGQxKo4/s400/DSC05078.JPG" /></a>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-33647092824568538882010-11-23T14:29:00.000-08:002010-11-23T14:54:56.366-08:00Snow Day!So today is the first official SNOW DAY of the year! Yesterday it was coming down pretty hard so they let school out 90 minutes early. I headed out with the bell and grabbed a redbox movie along the way. Then we bundled up the kiddos to play outside and take our Christmas card pics. We got a couple good ones with the great snow background. Now we just need to order the cards. :)<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxDg4ouAOI/AAAAAAAAANo/Dy_ADBXXrZ4/s1600/DSC04828.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542879473624285410" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxDg4ouAOI/AAAAAAAAANo/Dy_ADBXXrZ4/s400/DSC04828.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxDBIndwjI/AAAAAAAAANg/IjmVqc7lMqo/s1600/DSC04846.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542878928158179890" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxDBIndwjI/AAAAAAAAANg/IjmVqc7lMqo/s400/DSC04846.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxCqElcL1I/AAAAAAAAANY/brQuBMKvjg8/s1600/DSC04795.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 268px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542878531938955090" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxCqElcL1I/AAAAAAAAANY/brQuBMKvjg8/s400/DSC04795.JPG" /></a><br /><div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxB1dYQFAI/AAAAAAAAANI/UCdQRfTmzuI/s1600/DSC04852.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 268px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542877628061455362" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TOxB1dYQFAI/AAAAAAAAANI/UCdQRfTmzuI/s400/DSC04852.JPG" /></a> I know that you love the pink cougs hat that Gray picked out. How rare is that?! We actually don't have another one until next year. The best part of the weekend was Grayson and his talking. Granted, he has been talking for a while now and used complete sentences, but it seems like something has just "clicked" with him in the last few days. Now everything is in complete sentences and he thinks he is soooo smart! (We think he is too!) I can't tell you how many times Eric and I just looked at each other in surprise at something he said over the weekend. It is amazing to see the language development and how much he picks up. I can actually have a conversation with my 2 year old now!!! </span><br /><span style="font-family:georgia;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:georgia;">Random sentences include:</span><br /><ul><li><strong><span style="font-family:georgia;">"Ok, now go watch Lion King." Which is followed by "Oh no - they bite!"</span></strong></li><li><strong><span style="font-family:georgia;">Those are yucky clothes. (Dirty clothes in the hamper)</span></strong></li><li><strong><span style="font-family:georgia;">No bite mommy - I yucky. (When I was pretend biting him on the neck.)</span></strong></li><strong><li><strong><span style="font-family:georgia;">Look! Its a chameleon! (Cracks me up that he knows chameleon!!)</span></strong></li><li><span style="font-family:georgia;">No Bryce, no touch please. (One of the most common thing he says!)</span></strong></li></ul><span style="font-family:georgia;">I really need to get him on video now. It is just so fun watching him talk and figure out languge. Between the new words and random combinations - I just LOVE it. </span>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-72011538743042612212010-10-20T12:49:00.001-07:002010-10-20T12:59:50.547-07:00Pumpkin Patch 2010Now that it is nearing Halloween we decided that it was time to head off to the pumpkin patch with the kiddos. This year we went tried out a patch in Kent. No bounce house but it was WAY closer, which was nice. :) The boys were both dressed up in their costumes. This year Gray is a cow and Bryce is a chicken. Both of them had such a fun time at the patch! Gray loved looking at all the pumpkins and ended up picking 2 big pumpkins (which he calls mommy pumkin and daddy pumpkin) and 2 "baby" pumpkins. Even though it was overcast, the pictures turned out great. A perfect day for picking!<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TL9IKcfpwrI/AAAAAAAAAMI/OiEYthnrOW0/s1600/DSC04567.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530218211719103154" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 268px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TL9IKcfpwrI/AAAAAAAAAMI/OiEYthnrOW0/s400/DSC04567.JPG" border="0" /></a> Gray liked wandering through the fields. Unfortunately, he found himself in the middle of a muddy area and needed daddy to help him get out. He just kept shouting "Daddy! Help! Daddy! Help!"<br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TL9IKBujhnI/AAAAAAAAAMA/Q4JPrMTL9Aw/s1600/DSC04561.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530218204533851762" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 268px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TL9IKBujhnI/AAAAAAAAAMA/Q4JPrMTL9Aw/s400/DSC04561.JPG" border="0" /></a>Our little family pic from the patch.<br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TL9IJiQxcdI/AAAAAAAAAL4/AlhxviyyO6E/s1600/DSC04554.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530218196087435730" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 268px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/TL9IJiQxcdI/AAAAAAAAAL4/AlhxviyyO6E/s400/DSC04554.JPG" border="0" /></a> Gotta love the boys posing together. As I am sure that you can imagine, life with the two boys is busy!! I haven't posted in a while because I no longer have my school laptop to use while Eric uses our main one for work. My due date was officially Wednesday the 24<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span>. I went to a doctor <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">appt</span> that day and the doctor agreed that most likely we would see <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">each other</span> on the 1st of April because I hadn't started <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">dilating</span> yet. With that in mind, I didn't think anything of the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">braxton</span> hicks contractions on Thursday night. They lasted for well over six hours but weren't painful and I was able to sleep through them. After school on Friday was a normal day of running errands and trying to get last minute things done before Bryce's arrival (cleaning car, putting in the baby seat, etc). After dinner I gave Gray a bath and cleaned the bathroom at the same time. I noticed that I was getting some good contractions from all the scrubbing, but thought they would go away like the night before.<br />A few hours later they were coming a little stronger and closer together so I started timing them. Turns out they were 5-6 minutes apart! Interesting. Still, nothing to be alarmed about. It wasn't until 1:30 in the morning that I woke up Eric because I was having to breathe through the contractions now. We called the hospital and asked them what we should do. They told us to come in within the next hour unless we could get them to slow down. I decided to take a shower to relax and see if I could slow things down. Nope. But I did get to have nice clean hair! :) <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Haha</span>. As I started to get ready Eric was running around like a crazy man packing bags, cleaning, and getting everything nailed down for us to be away for a few days.</div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454999880046067698" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QNfTPxv_I/AAAAAAAAAGw/M2qL1ZcHtpA/s400/DSC01993.JPG" /> <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455000125430394786" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QNtlX9b6I/AAAAAAAAAG4/c5rUdfty9WY/s400/DSC01994.JPG" /> After Eric was able to shoo me into the car we drove down to Tacoma to drop off <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Grayson</span> at my parents house. Here is the last pic of us as a family of 3.<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 268px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455000347467820210" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QN6ghzrLI/AAAAAAAAAHA/_uqzpMcM8H8/s400/DSC02000.JPG" /> Then we were off to the hospital. I was put on a monitor to check on the timing of contractions. Turns out they were coming every 5 minutes (which was surprising because they had slowed down a bit when I was laying in bed to 7-8 minutes apart). Then they checked me and it turns out I was <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">dilated</span> to a 3! I was shocked!! Couldn't <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">believe</span> that I really WAS in labor. In any case, with me entering into active labor they decided to do the c-section right away. At this point it was 5 am. By the time they assembled their team, prepped me, and started, Bryce was born at 6:16 am.<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455000678165084002" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QONweLd2I/AAAAAAAAAHI/1q7wQsWJTeg/s400/DSC02005.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455001435498906658" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QO51wohCI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/vbEGrNJN-i8/s400/DSC02034.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455001873574004722" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QPTVt4B_I/AAAAAAAAAHY/Y9r_SMC0QFY/s400/DSC02050.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455002303040288562" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QPsVmndzI/AAAAAAAAAHg/9a6Ky51RdXc/s400/DSC02063.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455002834039333378" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QQLPup4gI/AAAAAAAAAHo/OHvD-itMK-Y/s400/DSC02066.JPG" /></div><div></div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455003162933412402" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S7QQeY9HQjI/AAAAAAAAAHw/_0A6KdQmNmA/s400/DSC02070.JPG" /></div></div></div></div></div></div><br /><br />So that is the story of Bryce's arrival. As you can see above Bryce was a hefty 9 lb 4 oz. More that I was expecting! :) Oh - and he was 21.5 inches long.Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-90906420269148139672010-03-23T09:58:00.000-07:002010-03-23T10:37:20.970-07:00Pre-Baby CraziesSo it has been quite a while since I last posted. The little man is actually due tomorrow and Eric and I are almost ready. There is no way that nesting lasts this long so I don't know why I have been driving Eric crazy with to-do lists but he has been willingly putting up with it. Gotta love him. The last few things on my list include cleaning the rest of the bathrooms, organizing our desk, packing a bag for the hispital and putting the car seat in the car. (Yes, I realize that being due in 1 day I probably should have done the last 2 a bit sooner... but we are not expecting him to be on-time.)<br /><br />Our expectations for how things are going to go - C-section at St. Jo's in Tacoma at 10 am on April 1st. If I go into labor before I am 8 days overdue then we are heading up to Seattle. Like I said though, Eric and I are betting that I won't go into labor before then. We would be very surprised... but very happy.<br /><br />Other than the obvious scurrying around and getting last minute things before the baby arrives both Eric and Gray are fighting nasty colds right now. (This is yet another reason we are hoping that the baby takes his time in arriving.) It would be great if they are both able to kick the cough and runny noses by next week. Oh - and also hoping that I don't catch it - but I normally don't get sick.<br /><br />Well, I should probably get back to my classes now. Students and staff are all watching me like a ticking time bomb at this point. Analyzing my every move and thinging that I had the baby if I am not 5 minutes early for a meeting. It is definitely exciting working up to the last minute and I am enjoying it ... oddly enough. :) Keeps my mind busy.Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-52846111600677065632010-01-31T20:13:00.000-08:002010-01-31T20:21:58.246-08:00Cousin Zach's 2nd Birthday<div align="center">Love this pic of the littlest ones in the Haukaas family. (Yummy pasta!) Maybe next year we will have a wild and crazy night out...<br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433119367355631186" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S2ZRR1mHBlI/AAAAAAAAAF4/aOCq-kbdWRk/s400/DSC00920.JPG" /><br />Gray was very curious about Parker but also really wanted to play with his toys. Later on he decided that putting ketchup in mommy's water was yummy. Really we let him do whatever he wanted at this point because it was over an hour past his bedtime. <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433119927381202802" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S2ZRyb2nF3I/AAAAAAAAAGA/LyNFt9q6jxU/s400/DSC00934.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433120221814282658" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S2ZSDks7WaI/AAAAAAAAAGI/tBiZYyL-Ui0/s400/DSC00949.JPG" />We chose a place close to Kari's house in Puyallup so that once dinner was finished we could run over and put Gray to bed. Then it was cake time! Eric surprised me with a WONDERFUL cake. He said that if I couldn't enjoy all the wine like everyone else then I should at least have something yummy as a treat. One of the many reasons I love him!!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433120496576982690" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/S2ZSTkRdbqI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/KLYbGtYQLo0/s400/DSC00967.JPG" />Here is little Parker getting spoiled by my mom and Grandma. Its not that easy to reason with grandmas about not feeding babies frosting. As you can see, it was a losing battle... Basically it is a large warehouse filled with inflatables. While I was in the middle of the process, Gray decided to help out with the cups. Unfortunately, there were just a few too many for him to handle at any one time. This "game" went on for over 20 minutes. I do give him credit for never getting frustrated though. :) Love it.</p><p align="center"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxiTz7oet7k0cQEfjpuLgFP7j4OZ8YRjNVu0IDRdQ22RtGslZaQIHWj_-2gplyMKSbHWUiZcHJKY3W0rfCOuA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></p>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-68267663943550341242010-01-01T20:19:00.001-08:002010-01-01T20:36:19.587-08:00Almost Ready! With Christmas coming to a close we were finally able to turn our focus back to the nursery. I had to first finish cutting in around the new moulding. Once that was done we headed off to Ikea to pick up the dresser and bookcase. We put everything together and the nursery is almost ready for a baby... except that we don't have a crib yet! Oops!<br /><br /><div align="center">Gray really wanted to help out on the step-stool and didn't understand why I wouldn't share. Not the most flattering pic of myself, but I was painting! As you can see above, Santa arrived just fine. Gray came down the stairs and went straight for his new big-wheel. Even though we know it is going to be a while for him to get full use out of it, Gray likes to sit on it and scoot around.<br /><div> <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421989232821279170" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Sz7GevZOGcI/AAAAAAAAAEI/IiJk0H7VyV8/s400/DSC00186.JPG" /></div><div>This year Grayson learned how to open up presents. We didn't want to show him that the wrapped boxes under the tree actually contained gifts until Christmas as we were a bit worried that he might just help himself to everything that was under the tree. I think he might have been a bit suspicious though after he moved one of the presents and it started talking to him. (It was a toy car for one of his cousins.) That poor box had a tough time from that point on because Gray never wanted to leave it alone!</div><div> </div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 268px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421989425059075858" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Sz7Gp7iSFxI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/8nSZiAzvBo4/s400/DSC00207.JPG" /></div><br />One of the presents that Eric and I were excited to get in the mail was our new camera!! YAY! It went on sale just days before Christmas so we ordered it. We don't really consider it a Christmas present... more like we just took advantage of the sales of the season. :) At least we have it before the baby arrives, which was our ultimate goal.Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-76658553319856502702009-12-04T07:11:00.000-08:002009-12-04T07:25:04.706-08:00Poop on the potty?I realize that I haven't updated in a while so I thought I would do a quick message before students come in. :)<br /><br />As usual, Gray is learning more and more everyday. The latest surprising thing happened last night. We were all playing upstairs after dinner and Grayson was running around as usual. All of a sudden he dropped his toy and ran into the bathroom. He sat down on his training toilet and started grunting. After a bit of "work" was done he got up and continued to play. Gray likes to put things in his potty and use it as a chair but we have never actually seen him go over to it and poop while sitting on top of it. (Well, the lid was up but diaper and pants were still on.) Couldn't believe that he took a poop ON the potty last night!!! Let's hope that it wasn't just a fluke and that he might be starting to understand how things down there work. Although... I wasn't planning on starting that journey for almost another year him.<br /><br />If you have seen Gray eatting lately, you would realize that everything is better when you can dip it. (I remember this stage when one of my neices was into dipping too.) Even if he claims that he doesn't want anything more to eat, if you tell him to "dip it" he will do so and follow it up with the smallest of bites to test out the dipping success. I didn't realize that he understood that phrase until last night when I asked him if he wanted to dip his nugget and he tried it out by dipping it in his rice. Too funny. Don't worry though, I saved the kid and gave him a small dollop of ketchup which he proceeded to dip into and continue eatting.<br /><br />Other than that, things are gearing up for the holiday season around our house. We plan to pick up the Christmas tree this weekend! Lights are all up. Some decorations (Grayson-proofed ones) are out as well. I have completed 90% of the shopping as well thanks to Black Friday! Once we get the tree up then I can wrap things and it will really seem like Christmas is around the corner. The only thing I am really dreading is baking cookies for all of Eric's top clients. Planning on doing that next weekend... ugh.<br /><br />Sorry that I don't have any fun pics to post. I will try to take some this weekend while we are down in Portland or cutting our tree on Sunday. :)Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-60362025393346851302009-11-20T21:49:00.001-08:002009-11-20T22:05:34.283-08:00Starting the NurseryOur plans are mounting up lately and now there are no free weekends until next year (as I am sure is typical for most of us out there). So Eric and I decided to clear the schedule this weekend and make some time to work around the house. Included in those plans is getting started on the nursery transformation! We bought the paint a few days ago and I couldn't wait to get it up on the wall. I LOVE painting!! Such immediate satisfaction. Bye bye sunshine yellow. Hello blue and brown baby boy. We are going to do crown molding to match what we did in Gray's room. Also, I thought it would be too much dark color on a solid wall so we are breaking up the wall with a white chair rail in the middle to split the blue and brown. We will see how it looks in the end. <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Swd_9Bfs9FI/AAAAAAAAAD4/KcF87qSuSKA/s1600/102_9882.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406430564031722578" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Swd_9Bfs9FI/AAAAAAAAAD4/KcF87qSuSKA/s400/102_9882.JPG" /></a><br /><div> </div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Swd_yk-KHYI/AAAAAAAAADw/8fFDXnmeY5o/s1600/102_9885.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406430384576142722" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Swd_yk-KHYI/AAAAAAAAADw/8fFDXnmeY5o/s400/102_9885.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Swd_nq2c-GI/AAAAAAAAADo/1mxm95Bm2OA/s1600/102_9877.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406430197175875682" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/Swd_nq2c-GI/AAAAAAAAADo/1mxm95Bm2OA/s400/102_9877.JPG" /></a></div></div>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-58532842525413886672009-11-19T10:23:00.000-08:002009-11-19T10:26:09.342-08:00Little MonkeyEric and I have been amazed lately at how much Gray understands what we talk about in casual conversation. It seems like there is a new word or phrase every day. Perfect example… yesterday… Gray ate a few bite of his lobster & cheese ravioli (yummy!) some green beans and a bit of garlic bread but was signing frantically that he was “all done”. So we cleaned him up and let him run around for a bit while we cleaned up the kitchen. Eric and I were talking about our day and other things when he asked me if I thought Grayson might want a bit of banana to top him off. In he runs nodding his head and signing “please” over and over again. Once he was sure his message got across to us he sat down at his little table and waited for his treat. Gray couldn’t have been more pleased with himself. So cute.Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-49819463315108900122009-11-03T19:48:00.000-08:002009-11-03T19:58:02.403-08:00Bubble Bath<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvD5vK0cDrI/AAAAAAAAADg/d9hoShJjBlU/s1600-h/103_1270.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400090541970689714" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvD5vK0cDrI/AAAAAAAAADg/d9hoShJjBlU/s400/103_1270.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvD5pE7UdfI/AAAAAAAAADY/Kv67_aN09yU/s1600-h/103_1261crop.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 291px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400090437309724146" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvD5pE7UdfI/AAAAAAAAADY/Kv67_aN09yU/s400/103_1261crop.jpg" /></a> </div><div>Gray always loves playing in the bath, but he REALLLLY likes it with bubbles. Sooooo excited that we chose to upgrade our digital camera this year!! Although our present digital camera has been around for many great times, it is getting older and beat up... and let's face it, has had beer spilled on it one too many times to work perfectly. Because it is too chaotic to try out new cameras in the middle of black Friday we have already begun the search. The front runner right now is a <a href="http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665887570">Sony DSLR-330</a>. Still need to go back to the store with our own memory card to be able to check the images on our home computer. One of the other top choices is a Nikon that we had fun playing with...<br /><br /><br /><p><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvD19QEiXBI/AAAAAAAAADQ/KA_7wC7iLps/s1600-h/DSC_0007.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 427px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 284px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400086385852046354" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvD19QEiXBI/AAAAAAAAADQ/KA_7wC7iLps/s400/DSC_0007.JPG" /></a> Looks even better when you click on it to see better resolution. Sad as it sounds, I just can't wait for the next few weeks to fly by so that we can go and get our new camera!!! :)</p>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-47394195325516548232009-11-03T19:18:00.000-08:002009-11-03T19:22:39.906-08:00Halloween Fun<div align="center"><span style="font-size:180%;">Family Halloween!</span></div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvDy-V6-JbI/AAAAAAAAADI/yD1uVIsuETE/s1600-h/101_1260.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400083106067522994" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SvDy-V6-JbI/AAAAAAAAADI/yD1uVIsuETE/s400/101_1260.JPG" /></a> Here we are after one of several parties this year. Gray was a dragon, Eric was a hunter, and I was a mail-order bride (package deal special... haha).<br /><div></div>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-646631823726217922009-10-23T19:09:00.000-07:002009-10-23T19:31:22.606-07:00Our Newest Addition UpdateSo we had an ultrasound on Monday to check on the little one. Everything looked great! We got a great peek at the baby laying on its side here...<br /><div></div><div></div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 443px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 328px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395985585798542594" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SuJkTRamdQI/AAAAAAAAAC4/ZRY5Y6GHefs/s400/ultrasound+1.jpg" /></div><div>Then the baby moved around and we got a nice little shot of his legs.... and everything else! Haha!</div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 471px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 345px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395985714170499282" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SuJkavo3ENI/AAAAAAAAADA/6e5QEfL6uTU/s400/ultrasound+2.jpg" /> It is quite apparent at this point that Gray is now going to have a little brother!! Now Eric and I need to actually get started with planning things for the little guy. The original plan was to move Grayson to a big boy room and have the baby stay in the nursery. However, after talking about it a while, it is just too strange to move Gray out of his normal room. So what to do about about the new nursery? Who knows. We are open for suggestions though!</div><div> </div><div></div><div>Looking forward to the first Halloween party of the season tomorrow night! Just need to get our costumes put together. The only one of us that is ready is Gray and it is past his bedtime. :) </div>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-45068383296039645492009-10-15T11:10:00.001-07:002009-10-15T12:47:50.391-07:00So many things so little timeI feel like our lives have been caught in a tornado lately. Around every turn there is a change in plan or something hitting the fan.<br />Examples:<br /><ul><li>Two days ago we had to have our brand new vehicle TOWED back to the dealership because it pretty much imploded. Let's just say that the dashboard looked like a Christmas Tree because there were so many lights on in there. Luckily it is completely covered and we didn't pay a cent. Got to pick it up yesterday and it is running just fine now.</li><li>Then yesterday I had a piece of sticky honey candy at the staff meeting and it took off half of one of my molars. Now I am off to the dentist today to see what they can do for me. That'll teach me for craving sweets. I should just stick to chocolate!</li></ul><p>Other than that, Eric is getting prepared to go hunting tomorrow and I am frantically grading before progress reports go out tomorrow. </p><p>The trip up to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Kelowna</span> went well last weekend. It was a LONG time in the car (6.5 hours each way) but it was well worth it. Great to remember loved ones with family members all around. The thing that made the trip a lot more bearable was definitely the DVD screens in the car. No one else wanted to drive because who wouldn't rather watch a movie? Oh well.</p><p>Can't wait for Monday when we find out if it is going to be a little sister or little brother for Gray. We are <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">soooo</span> close. Makes me nervous though because after we really need to start going with planning for this little one...</p>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-21278086833258815772009-10-05T19:43:00.000-07:002009-10-05T21:18:35.339-07:00Pumpkin Patch Time!<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrEpnZGTJI/AAAAAAAAACw/wIfA4EYMyxc/s1600-h/101_1148.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389336123330153618" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrEpnZGTJI/AAAAAAAAACw/wIfA4EYMyxc/s400/101_1148.JPG" /></a> Today we went to the pumpkin patch with Rose, Keri and kids. Everyone had a great time dressing up and playing on the farm. We went for a hay ride, sling shot apples at targets, jumped in a bouncy house, fed goats, and even had time to pick out some great pumpkins!<br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrEW9XoLcI/AAAAAAAAACo/6T_52M8qkN4/s1600-h/101_1130.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 443px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 354px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389335802812050882" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrEW9XoLcI/AAAAAAAAACo/6T_52M8qkN4/s400/101_1130.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrEF1lySVI/AAAAAAAAACY/TcHjgK2iXcY/s1600-h/101_1151.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389335508666173778" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrEF1lySVI/AAAAAAAAACY/TcHjgK2iXcY/s400/101_1151.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrDzNec4bI/AAAAAAAAACQ/1C16OMC7oI8/s1600-h/101_1170.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389335188660347314" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsrDzNec4bI/AAAAAAAAACQ/1C16OMC7oI8/s400/101_1170.JPG" /></a></div></div></div>Team Haukaashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18341749340865264851noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6567865146752863756.post-42650987689020969952009-10-03T19:22:00.000-07:002009-10-03T19:29:50.136-07:00Trying on the costume<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsgIANWFWtI/AAAAAAAAABg/Bzu2ASuKesA/s1600-h/CIMG1562.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388565753824107218" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsgIANWFWtI/AAAAAAAAABg/Bzu2ASuKesA/s400/CIMG1562.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsgHw1WvFRI/AAAAAAAAABY/SJAtHAcqh9w/s1600-h/CIMG1555.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388565489686353170" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kij-AIGOvYA/SsgHw1WvFRI/AAAAAAAAABY/SJAtHAcqh9w/s400/CIMG1555.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Grayson decided to show up to Grandma and Grandpa's in his Halloween costume... just to try it out.
